The mark was developed through abstraction, simplifying the eagle's form into a cohesive system of geometric shapes. Past iterations displayed a variety of simpler icon like forms with little display of any deep details that take a second for the eye to notice.
Bald Eagle
In the iterations displayed, one can see a display of all of the bald eagle's attributes both physical and associative being displayed in a variety of different ways.
Reference Points
Process Work 1
Each attribute is displayed and nothing is excluded because it is important for the viewer to be able to identify the creature upon first glance, even if it is still possible to identify the creature with excluded attri-butes. Both ways, this modification still allows for the design to function as a recognizable eagle and a broader symbolic mark.
Process Work 2
The design uses sharp, angular geometry to convey strength and authority.
Repeated triangular forms with the wings, feathers, beak and talons alongside circular forms used to make up the body, legs, head, and eyes are used repeatedly to convey the eagle's given form, creating a sense of controlled aggression.
Process work 3
The composition displays a forward leaning perspective as it portrays the bald eagle flying towards the viewer, wings spread wide. The overall structure is compact and stable, reinforcing the idea of unity and cohesion often associated with patriotic symbolism.
